Where do you do newborn sessions?

Most of my newborn work is done in my studio. There are a lot of reasons for it, but they all come down to the same thing: It's just better and easier on everyone. There's something to be said for walking in, having wardrobe all ready and waiting for you (and the family), the temperature is perfect for newborns and the sets are already setup with the colors you chose. There's an added bonus- No cleaning! Sometimes coming to me is just not possible though. When this is the case, I'll come to you.

When should newborn sessions be booked?

I tend to book out 4-6 months in advance of impending due dates. If the baby is already born, reach out as soon as possible to see if there's any availability in my upcoming schedule. Use the Contact Page to get quick responses.

When is the best time to do newborn sessions?

Ideally we'll shoot your newborn session 2-3 weeks after delivery. This is when babies tend to be the most sleepy, curly and we can still capture all of those perfect newborn bits that they quickly grow out of like the wrinkly fingers and toes and the hair they had when they were born. I consider anything from Day 12-28 ideal for these sessions and most of the images you see in my newborn section are captured during that time.

What if we missed the newborn window?

There's still no time like right now. This moment in time will only come once and it goes (much too) quickly! In fact, I'll let you in on a secret- Weeks 5-8 are a real sweet spot. Babies this age really begin to engage with their world and respond lovingly to the voices they know well by now. They still curl up and look new, but they are usually a bit more "filled- in" and their skin is clear by this point. If you've missed these windows, reach out. There's no hard and fast rules here.

Do you supply props and blankets?

I have everything we need to make baby comfortable and adorable here. I make my own headbands for those feminine looks and have plenty of hats and gender neutral textiles and wood props on hand. You'll pick your neutral shades and/or colors ahead and I'll create sets that won't distract from the main event. This is about the baby after all!

Do you have wardrobe options for the whole family?

You can bring your own or choose from carefully curated items in my Client Closet. These items are updated frequently and have been carefully selected to complement each other. I look for classic, timeless lifestyle looks that will flatter all body types and in colors that will compliment any wall in your home. I have ladies sizes XS-XL. Men sizes: S-XL, Children sizes: 6mo -5T. Plus a few extras for good measure. I also have an assortment of stunning maternity gowns for belly and post-belly mommas.

Can I bring our family dog?

I LOVE dogs and welcome friendly ones to join in the family portraits. They are family after all! Be sure to run this by me though when you inquire. There's some caveats and planning involved.

When Baby arrives we schedule your newborns session

Approx 2 weeks after your session, you will be invited to a private online gallery to preview your images. We'll then schedule a design appointment to select your finished art pieces.

One of my favorite things is getting texts that a new baby has been born. Once your baby has been delivered we can confirm your session day and time.

Once you are booked, we'll start planning. These appointments can be done over the phone but are much better when held at the studio. Even if you've been here, clothing and the studio options change frequently.

Use my contact page to introduce yourself and get things rolling. I'll take a look at your due date and make sure there is enough room on my current schedule. Baby's are rarely on time, so I'll use this date to confirm my availability right away with you..
